Microsoft Says Azure Recovery Underway After Major Outage; AWS Users Also Report Issues (UPDATED)

Amazon.com, Inc.’s (NASDAQ:AMZN) AWS and Microsoft Corp.’s (NASDAQ:MSFT) Azure are experiencing simultaneous outages on Wednesday that are disrupting internet services for major companies worldwide.

Azure Outage Update

Microsoft Azure said it has completed deploying its "last known good" configuration to fix a widespread outage affecting parts of its cloud network. "Customers may have begun to see initial signs of recovery," the company said, adding that it is "recovering nodes and routing traffic through healthy nodes" to restore full service.

Azure said configuration changes will remain "temporarily blocked while we continue mitigation efforts" and that full recovery is expected within four hours, by 23:20 UTC (7:20pm ET) on Wednesday.
